Workout in Central Park More Hills!!!
We started at the Bethesda fountain and warmed up by taking a jog over to Tavern on the Green. From there we got on a path, it wasn't gravel but it wasn't cinders either, it was a little dusty.
From this path, we headed north and as the path went north, there were two inclines. A slight incline and then a plateau, then a much steeper incline. All in all, the whole route was about a half mile from bottom to top (I'm guessing). The work out was to run with an elevated effort level up the inclines then recover on the descent.
I was still feeling a few aches and pains, so I had to take it a little easier than I like to for a Tuesday workout. Plus running on this little path was kind of like running in sand.
I had a good workout, by the end I was feeling good, the aches and pains were just kinks that needed to be worked out or warmed up.
After practice we had a meet and greet with our honored team mates. This was kind of a last minute deal. The Brooklyn Runners were to meet with the honored team mate , but the meet and greet was on the upper east side of Manhattan. The inconvenience of the location was not lost on anyone and many apologies were made. Once that was out of the way, I had a lovely time with my team mates, and honored team mate Caitlyn Herman.
The only downside was not getting home till mid night! Argh! I need my beauty sleep don't you know.
